Teacher of lessons no school room could hold,
A heart full of love that's more precious that gold;
Patience and faith, more enduring than time,
A soul filled with mercy and kindness sublime.
No matter how busy, no matter what task,
She's eager to help me, whenever I ask . . .
THAT'S MOTHER!
From life's first beginning, she's guided my feet,
She has taken the bitter go give me the sweet.
So, if ever I falter, no blame should she feel,
It's the devil and me who has made the whole deal.
For she'd give her life gladly to guide me aright,
She'd suffer all hardships to save me from blight . . .
THAT'S MOTHER!
